Welcome to the Calhoun County Supervisor of Elections Website!

Hurricane Michael Discovery Election Plan

Hurricane Michael has hit Calhoun County hard.  With so many homes damaged or destroyed we have many voters displaced, with questions of if and when they can return.  Communication in the county is spotty and power outages may last for weeks, if not months.  The Elections Office is up and running although it is currently on generated power… we are open.  We now have internet and can receive emails at soe@votecalhoun.com.  Our phone communication is also working (850)674-8568.

Calhoun County voters, in addition to assessing damage to their homes and helping neighbors as our community always will do in difficult times… are slowly piecing their lives back together. Some voter’s are asking questions on how we are going to be able to have an Election in these catastrophic conditions.  I want to reach out to every voter and will be doing so by every means available to assure them… the election will go on and every voter will have an opportunity to vote. Their vote will count and their voice heard.

As your Supervisor of Elections, I am putting the following plan into place immediately.

Early Voting will continue as scheduled at the Elections Office beginning Monday, October 22 and continue through Monday, November 5th.  Please note Early Voting days will be extended through Election Day.  Hours of operation will be Monday – Friday (7AM -5PM) Saturday and Sunday 8AM – 4PM.

Election Day polling places will be open from 7PM – 7PM, November 6th .
Voters who voted at the Altha Community Center and the Kinard Library on Election Day will be relocated.  As soon as we have established the polling place for these two locations we will update you.

We will be opening three Vote-By-Mail drop off sites.  Information on these sites will be available by Friday, October 19th as to where these sites will be located.

Also, beginning immediately any voter that comes by the Elections Office, can pick-up a Vote-By-Mail (absentee) ballot for themselves, or pick up a Vote-By-Mail ballot for any family member.  You also have the option of voting an in-office VBM ballot.  You can also request a VBM on our website www.votecalhoun.com or call the office.  If are unable to get through at the office please contact me on my cell at (850) 557-1764 or Sharon Guilford at (850) 447-1866.

For our displaced voters, I am also extending the option to have your Vote-By-Mail emailed to you.  You may then fax back your voted ballot with the signed Voter’s Certificate. The office fax number is (850) 674-2449.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Elections Office via email at soe@votecalhoun.com or call us at (850) 674-8568.

We are here and willing do everything in our power to ensure every Calhoun County voter has an opportunity to cast their ballot in this election.

Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
