UPDATE VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION

As voter, it is your responsibility to keep your voter registration record current an dup-to-date with your supervisor of elections office. Voters are encouraged to update their voter registration prior to Election Day to avoid completing paperwork and ensure a smooth voting experience. Use our online Voter Registration Status Too to lookup your voter registration. Record changes/updates can be made by completing and submitting a Florida Voter Registration Application online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov, in person, or by mail.

When Can I update my Voter Registration?

You can update your voter registration record at any time, with the exception of a political party change for a primary election. To be effective for a primary election, a party change must be made at least 29 days before the election.

Name Change

If your name changes by marriage or other legal process, please notify us of this change by submitting a Florida Voter Registration Application.

Address Change

The residential address on your voter registration record determines your Election Day voting location and the candidates and issues available for you to vote on in any election. To avoid going to the incorrect voting location and having to complete a change of address before voting, please ensure we have your current address on file.

Residential or mailing address changes within the State of Florida can be made any of the following ways:

  • Online: Using our online link to address update
  • Telephone: 850-674-8568, ext. 4
  • In person or writing: Calhoun County Supervisor of Election, 20859 Central Avenue East, Rm 117, Blountstown, FL 32424
  • Email: soe@votecalhoun.com
  • Fax: 850-674-2449

If you are moving to a residential address that is out of the State of Florida, you must register to vote in your new state. To cancel your voter registration in the State of Florida and be removed from the Calhoun County voter rolls, download and complete the Voter Registration Removal Form.

To update your signature or identifying mark, you must submit a Florida Voter Registration Application. You can use Online Voter Registration to update your information, and it will use the signature from your Drivers License or Florida ID. Or you can download and print a Florida Voter Registration Application forms (English PDF / Español PDF) and return it by mail or in person to our office.

Political Party Affiliation Change

All party changes for a primary election must be made by the registration deadline, 29 days before the election. For a general election, a party change can be made at any time. You can declare or change your party affiliation by submitting a Florida Voter Registration Application or a signed written notice that includes your date of birth or voter registration number.

Information on Florida’s major and minor political parties can be found on the Florida Division of Election’s website https://dos.myflorida.com/elections/

Florida is a Closed Primary state. In partisan office contests in a primary election, a voter may only vote for the candidates of the party in which he or she is registered. Voters registered with no party affiliation (NPA) are not eligible to vote for partisan candidates in a primary election.

All registered voters regardless of party affiliation are entitled to vote on non-partisan candidates and issues.

In a General Election, all registered voters receive the same ballot regardless of party affiliation and are eligible to vote for any candidate.
